The past 18 months has been a period of unprecedented bushfires, drought, floods and a rampant pandemic.
At the same time it has been a period of generosity, kindness, selflessness and compassion, loss and despair.
When Failford resident, Anthony Naughton learned about the devastating loss experienced by one local family following last month's floods he didn't hesitate to extend the hand of generosity.
"I read a post on the Nabiac News and Chat (Facebook) page about a couple of families that lost everything in the floods," he said.
A well-known motoring enthusiast, Anthony had a 'spare' vehicle parked on his JAX Tyres and Auto, Forster premises.
I would like to think that if I lost everything in a flood or fire someone would help me out.

The bright yellow 1998 Hyundai sedan had been set aside as a future demolition derby or racing car.
But, following a quick chat with wife Olivia, Anthony - without hesitation - made the generous decision to give the vehicle to John, who had lost everything in the floods.
John's losses included his uninsured car which was needed for medical appointments and to pick up medications.
"We had plans for it, but decided to donate it and give someone their independence back," Anthony said.
