The region had just survived crippling drought and devastating bushfires when COVID-19 hit, forcing many business to shut up shop.
Mid Coast locals are great at pulling together when times are tough, MidCoast Council economic development co-ordinator, Robyn Brennan says.
In conjunction with this year's Small Business Month - which extends to October 31 - MidCoast Council and Forster Tuncurry Business Chamber is rewarding one local business you believe has done great things during the past 12 months.
We're asking you to nominate a local business that could really do with a reward to win a happiness hamper, Ms Brennan said.
"We've seen amazing resilience and adaptation by our businesses as they've tackled each of these challenges, but there's no doubt that these events have taken their toll on many small business operators across the Mid Coast."

The happiness hampers will be chock-full of goodies, from motivational business books to locally sourced pamper products.
"The thought-provoking books provide the opportunity for businesses to reflect on how they reacted to recent stressors, while the pamper products are designed to show our local businesses that they are supported, and reminding them that there is a caring community surrounding them.
"The non-perishable pamper products are all sourced from within the Mid Coast, and will also let businesses know what's in their own big backyard, encourage collaboration and promote a strong and inclusive economy."
But, time is running out to nominate the business you believe deserves this special gift.
Just complete the form on the MidCoast Council heap some happiness on your favourite business page before 4.30pm this Friday, October 23.
