Originally postponed from May to September, the date has now been revised to Saturday, November 14.
"This postponement will hopefully allow for the 800-plus registered participants and volunteers, and their friends and family, to safely attend the event in Forster and enjoy a great race later this year," a statement from Triathlon NSW said.
"We extend our thanks to MidCoast Council who have accommodated this date change and continue to support the hosting of the event in their region."
Held in the Great Lakes until 2016, the event was set to return to Forster in 2020 after being held in Orange for the past three years.

Triathlon NSW CEO, Adam Wicks, said it was disappointing to have to move the date again, but he thanked the participating clubs for their ongoing cooperation.
'It's not lost on me the huge burden rescheduling these events puts on our critical volunteers who run our 60 affiliated clubs. You are the heart and soul of our community. I thank you in advance for making every effort to rally the troops around the new date," Mr Wicks said.
"These difficult decisions give no one any happiness, but I truly believe the sport was in a solid position before COVID, and I am confident we will emerge from this crisis and rebound strongly."

Elite Energy CEO, Mark Emerton, whose company is a race partner of the club championships, said everything was being done to ensure the event went ahead.
"NSW is the only state in Australia that delivers a club championship event of this size, and we remain committed to delivering a great race in November," he said.
"We are continuing to work with all relevant approval agencies including NSW Health to ensure this event is delivered safely, protecting participants and the local community. We encourage you to maintain your support for the event and race, if at all possible, in order to support the future of triathlon."
All existing entries for the event will be rolled over to November 14.
