The students all enjoyed the show, with not one disappointed child returning to school.
“The performance, created around author Eric Carle’s well known children’s book was inspired,” teacher, Warren Gibbs said.
Student, Andrew Kent said he liked the part where the man was doing the paintings and he folded the paper to show the picture.
“Also when the caterpillar got fat,” he added.
“I loved the part where the butterfly came out because it was big and colourful,” student, Jada Hall added, and Kai Harvey said, “My favourite part was when the fireflies found each other and they danced together.”
“Many of these books have been part of the school’s learning unit this term,” Warren said.
“As with any live concert, the children were calling out, clapping and joining in with the words.
“The books were narrated and brought to life with large backdrops, props and large colourful puppets.”
The fun didn’t stop there as the students were then treated to McDonald’s for lunch before returning home.
A wonderful day for both students and staff.
“Thanks to the parents who supported this excursion, as we had 99 per cent attendance, and thanks to Mrs Nicholson and Mrs O’Connell,” Warren added.
