MidCoast Council community spaces recreation and trades manager, Dan Aldridge will put his recommendation to councillors at the February monthly ordinary meeting based on community response.
During July and August 2017 council held a number of engagement events inviting the community to share their opinions and thoughts about its suggestions on its Have Your Say page and at public events.
Mr Aldridge said judging from the positive comments he was confident council was on the right track.
“We have gone to extensive effrorts to get this right,” he said.
“And, we have not received a biased answer yet.”
With $300,000 set aside and an additional $300,000 being sought through grant funding, Mr Aldridge is keen to see work on the project begin as soon as the go ahead is given.
The water park/wet play area will be well and truly read by next summer.
