MidCoast Council is harmonising planning services across the region, with property certificates now available online in the Great Lakes.
Online services for property certificates (Section 149, 603 and 735A) were available in the former Greater Taree Council before the council merger took place.
The three types of certificates are issued when property is being sold and purchased as part of the conveyancing process, and provide information to vendors and purchasers about the property, such as zoning, outstanding rates and notices.
Real estate agents, conveyancers, solicitors and ratepayers can now register to apply and pay for property certificates online in both the Great Lakes and Manning regions.
"The expansion of online services to the Great Lakes provides improved consistency for customers and will bring improved service turnaround times of three to five days for production of certificates,” S149 certificate officer/eplanner, Karen Bee said.
With approximately 99 per cent of certificates being issued in the Manning and Great Lakes region, the service is largely consistent, but Karen Bee says: "We're now working to improve certificate issue services in Gloucester also.”
