I have just recently switched to NBN, as my ADSL2+ speed was deteriorating (I wonder why).

The reason I changed so quickly is the NBN was $5 a month cheaper for the internet.
However, I just received the first Telstra bill under the NBN and it had a Telstra Broadband Protect charge for $9.95 on it.
I immediately contacted Telstra and they told me it was for anti-virus protection.
Firstly, they did not inform me of the extra charge when changing over to NBN, nor did I ask for it. I have my own anti-virus protection. The word rip off comes directly to mind.
So, please check your accounts for this sly/hidden fee or charge if you have not authorised it.
