Established in 1910 by Henry Frederick Stanley Morgan, it is based in Malvern Link, Worcestershire, England, and today employs less than 200 gifted tradesman.
Very, very British to its bootstraps, the company hand assembles ‘in excess of 1300 cars per year’, and consequently waiting lists are par for the course, delivery currently being about six months from when you place your order (and pay up front!) to when you collect your hand built classic.
But the good news today is that at one stage in the past, the waiting list was out to 10 years!
Early cars were either two-seat or four-seat three wheelers, and as such, enjoyed exemption from British tax imposts on cars, as they were officially classified as motorcycles.
Probably the best and most recognised model from the mid 1930s, was the Super Sports with its impressive V-twin J.A.P. motor externally mounted ahead of the front axle.
Despite all the odds, the family owned company continues through to the present day, with the futuristic Morgan Aero coupe, first introduced in 2012 to shell shocked traditional owners (affectionately known as “Moggies”) who were assured that the production of traditional “Mogs” would continue into the foreseeable future.
