The event, which took place for the first time last year in Coopernook State Forest, allows dogs and their owners to go for a run or walk off the beaten track and in beautiful locations like through the winery’s vineyards.
Organised by Forster events company Fully Rad Adventures, the event also raises funds for Sweet Pea Animal Rescue with a percentage of ticket sales going to the local charity.
Danielle Donnelly of Fully Rad Adventures said the run is not timed and is more about the experience of enjoying a walk or run outdoors with your dog.
“It’s a relaxing and fun event that is designed around the dog’s enjoyment,” Danielle said.
“They get to sniff around and take everything in.”
Dogs are awarded with a medal and bandana upon completing the track.
The event will also incorporate a fun day aspect after the run, with obstacle courses for dogs, Beerdog’s Brewhouse ‘beer’ for dogs and a pooch smooch kissing booth.
For the humans, wine and food will be available as well as live music entertainment.
The event will take place again in Coopernook State Forest in August this year.
