A DRUNK teenager - with a suspended red P-plate licence and two unrestrained teenagers in the back of the ute - hit speeds of 180km/h during a police chase.

About 1.30am Sunday Highway Patrol officers were conducting speed checks on the Lakes Way at Darawank.
A southbound ute, clocked at 117kmph in the 100km/h zone, accelerated away from when they tried to stop the vehice.
Police estimated the car to be hitting speeds of 180km/h and began a pursuit.
The vehicle stopped suddenly on the Lakes Way and turned into Manns Road, a dead end road, at Darawank. The driver, a 17-year-old male from Forster, was removed from the vehicle and arrested.
A further four young males were found in the vehicle and another two, unrestrained, in the back tray section of the ute. Police said they were all intoxicated.
The 17-year-old wreturned a breath analysis of 0.081 at Forster Police Station while checks revealed his P1 red provisional licence had been suspended due to the loss of demerit points.
He was charged with not stop during a police pursuit, mid-range drink driving, drive whilst suspended, exceed speed limit by more than 45kmph and having two unrestrained passengers in the rear of his ute.
He will appear in Forster Children's Court later this month.
