Return fixtures are being organised for early next year.
The academy has been set up to offer the area’s talented junior players a pathway to develop their skills that ties in well with Football Mid North Coast’s representative teams, offers advanced level coaching to players and to those who feel that local club football is the right level for them.
TFFC this year has 12 current or previous players in the FMNC representative set up indicating that the junior development programmes the club has in place are effective.
“There are several programmes that will be offered in 2015,” TFFC’s coaching director Jonathon Newman said.
“We will continue to run the academy as we have done but with more defined selection criteria for entry into the academy.
“Alongside this, TFFC has started a Skill Acquisition Programme for the under 9 to under 12 age groups run by FFA Advanced C Licence coach Scott Fletcher, which we will look to expand in 2015.”
The club will also be offering Skill Sessions for players aged 12 to 15 who haven’t been involved with the academy but would like to learn more about the game.
The recent development day has allowed TFFC’s experienced coaching staff to identify areas of individual and team play that require more focus and this will be emphasised in the regular coach education sessions the club has been running.
“By educating our club coaches using the FFA National Football Curriculum as a guide, players and their parents can be certain that they are getting the most up to date skills and tactical coaching available,” TFFC president Dave Stewart said.
