The fourth carols event hosted by Paul and Chantal Hallot in so many years, the evening welcomes those with christmas good will and christmas good cheer.
“We started doing it because we thought it was a nice way of getting people together” Paul said.
The word of mouth carols event is brought to life through Janelle Dougherty’s Forster Tuncurry based Kidsmusik Choir, which has been leading those gathered through familiar carol territory since the event’s second year.
“That choir has been instrumental in keeping it going” added Paul.
Families watch the sunset from the comfort of their picnic rugs, as the evening falls across the valley and river below.
A donation bucket goes towards a bio-gas toilet for disadvantaged communities across the world, as part of the Housing for Health initiatives set up by the Hallot’s architect Paul Pholeros and his ‘Health Habitat’ project.
“This year will be our third dunny,” Paul said proudly.
It is certainly one way of putting Christmas carols and good cheer to good use.
