Members of Robert Scott’s former surf club - Pacific Palms discussed fundraising ideas at a recent management meeting.
President Kel McCredie said a fundraiser will be held but at this stage no dates have been confirmed.
“We discussed a few ideas. One that came up was fundraising at the Battle of the Boats as that was an event Rob and his father Steve were involved in,” Mr McCredie said.
“Nothing has been finalised as yet but we are definitely planning an event. We all feel we want to do something.”
Club member Dave Ellis, who is a close family friend, said Robert is a “typical young Aussie bloke.”
“He’s got that Aussie larrikinism in him. He’s a fit and healthy guy. He’s always been popular with his peers. You couldn’t say a bad word about him," he said.
“Stephen, his father, was instrumental in getting the Battle of the Boats surf carnival here and basically brought surf boats to our club.”
Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club, where Stephen Scott is now a member, will hold a Rally for Robbo on Friday, October 24.
