FORSTER swimmer Dane Jeffery came away with a silver medal and new records at the Swimming NSW State Age Short Course Meet recently.

The 12-year-old Great Lakes College student placed second in the 50 metre freestyle event with a time of 27.18 to receive a silver medal. Dane also placed fourth in the 100 metre freestyle and in the 100 metre breaststroke, fifth in the 200 metre breaststroke and sixth in the 200 metre freestyle.
The talented swimmer broke personal bests in all of the events.
Thirteen swimmers competed in the event which was held at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre between August 29 to August 31.
Dane is a member of the Forster Swim Club and trains with coach Peter Sanders five times a week. He also does gym training three times a week with Miki Legros at the Great Lakes Aquatic Centre.
Dane will compete at the Cherrybrook Carlile Qualifying Meet at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre on September 20.
