WALLIS Lake reserve and first grade sides travelled to Kempsey on Saturday to take on long-time rivals, the Macleay Valley Rangers.

The first grade sides could not be separated by full time and the points were shared after a nil all draw.
In the reserve grade match, Wallis Lake notched a comfortable 3-0 win over the Rangers side.
Strike weapon Ethan Perry could not stop scoring goals and got his second hat trick in consecutive weeks.
Coach Tony Russ was pleased with the dominating performance and another clean sheet in goals thanks to goalkeeper Tynan Leahy. Defender Dane Stricker was named man of the match.
The Dangar Street pitch was dry and the gusty weather forecast seemed fitting for with both sides producing hard and physical matches.
Both sides were working the ball wide and through the midfield trying to crack the defence and be first on the score board.
Although both sides were creating chances, shots on target were proving difficult in the windy conditions and both back lines were playing confidently.
Midfielders Louis Ponte and Beau Wynter worked well down the right side and helped Wallis Lake edge out the Rangers in possession however half time arrived before a goal was scored.
Coach Herb Klemperer said the boys were doing a solid job and the effort was there but to get a win they would need to lift and create more opportunities up front.
Wallis Lake came out of half time and looked like the team most likely to break the deadlock.
Strikers Peter Masterantonio and Roan Whiteman were working tirelessly with the midfield to produce a goal and Whiteman went very close only to see his shot shave the post and miss.
Mitch Yarnold created havoc up front with his fast and direct running of the ball but could not beat the Rangers keeper.
As pressure started to build so did the frustration and the notoriously vocal Rangers’ bench and supporters were behind the home team.
The referee found himself issuing yellow cards to several players as the late and rough challenges proved to be a sign of fatigue.
Wallis Lake gave it everything they had in the closing stages and the tiring Rangers defence were just clinging on.
The 50/50 decisions seemed to be favouring the Kempsey side and the away team were denied a chance to score.
The game ended nil all and Wallis Lake had to settle for their third draw of the season. Wallis Lake remains on top of the ladder and just four points ahead of Port United.
Wallis Lake will be keen to avenge their only loss of the season when they face Port Macquarie FC again at Boronia Park this weekend. Games kick off at 1.15pm.
