Back on the water after more than two months forced hiatus paddlers are preparing for their annual regatta, which was postponed from November 2021 to March 2022 due to the pandemic.
"We are currently training on the (Wallis) lake four times a week," Janis Radford said.
"We usually hold our regatta in November each year but due to COVID-19, it has been postponed, like many other regattas across the State," she said.

"Our regatta will now be held in March 26 and 27, 2022."
Janis said the Pearl Dragons was confident that with an increased vaccination rate within the area the community would be ready to accept visitors during the regatta.
"We would like the community to come along and see our sport.
"We are also looking for volunteers to help out at the regatta for a variety of tasks."
There will also be other regattas from Sydney to the North Coast to attend.
The new year will see a Pearl Dragons team preparing to participate in the Ord River Challenge, a gruelling 55 kilometre paddle in Western Australia's Kimberley region in June next year.
"This will be an exciting experience for members."
Also in the new year the Pearl Dragons will hold come and try sessions for people who are interested in dragon boating.
The club encourages new paddlers to try the sport to get a sense of its challenges and rewards.
In addition, there are always lots of social activities related to the Great Lakes Pearl Dragons.
