"We're placing a new safety net at the Rockpool to be ready for the summer season, which should take about half the day," community spaces executive manager, Dan Aldridge said.
However, the timing of the operation is weather and swell dependent, Mr Aldridge said.
The café will remain open and accessible throughout the works, although the Tuncurry playground is currently closed while the new fully accessible play equipment is installed.
It's expected to open in mid-December.

Recently an upgrade to the promenade and beach access was undertaken, with an new shared walkway, tiered steps that double as seating, and ramps and handrails installed to improve all-ability access.
The Rockpool is an unsupervised swimming space, and beachgoers should be aware of its potential danger.
Although the net is installed as a safety precaution, it does not replace adequate supervision of children and poor swimmers.
Swimmers are asked to be aware of strong currents that can pose a risk, particularly at the southern edge near the safety net, and to exercise caution at all times.
