MidCoast Council is partnering with the PCYC (Police Citizens Youth Club) to host the awards for the first time, recognising the positive contributions young people make to the community.
Nominations are invited across seven categories to recognise a person aged 12-24 years, across a wide range of achievements, arts, leadership, community service, sports, wellbeing, resilience and entrepreneur.
"Each category will recognise two young people, one from the 12-17 age bracket and one aged 18-24 years," community development co-ordinator, Lyndie Hepple said.
"Winners of the awards will receive a $250 cash prize, with each category being sponsored by a local service, group or organisation."
The support of the PCYC makes these awards possible, along with the sponsorship of several local businesses.

"We're always looking for more sponsors, so if community groups, organisations or businesses are interested in sponsoring a future category, we'd like to hear from you."
