For the staff at Dubbo Quest Hotel, in NSW's Central West, that's exactly what happened when actor Zac Efron randomly appeared for checkout on Sunday morning.
Efron travelled to Dubbo days following his visit to Katoomba in the NSW Blue Mountains as he continues filming in Australia for the next season of his Netflix eco-travel show, Down to Earth.
Quest Hotel franchise manager Amrita Verma said it was a shock.
"We had this group booking for 10 rooms from the USA, because of the Easter holidays most of the Dubbo accommodation was booked out in advance, so this group had rooms booked with a couple of hotels," Ms Verma said.
"I had heard this rumour that a big celebrity was staying with us within this group, but their coordinator remained silent for security reasons.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"They were here for one night. In the evening, April 2 at 5 pm the coordinator asked if the VIP keys can be collected from reception by [Zac Efron's] security guard.
"Then, in the morning we had some guests who came in with an exciting tone saying they had seen Zac Efron.
"They were thrilled and so was my staff and I as we wanted to have a glimpse of him as well.
"We only realised in the morning at checkout when the VIP guest - Zac Efron himself came into reception to say hi to us.
"I saw him from a distance only but still that was great.
"My receptionist asked him how he is .
"He said I am fine and asked her how she is. He said have a good day and he left."
