However, time is slipping away, with February 28 the last day to submit an application for any event scheduled between August 1 this year and January 31, 2022.
Applications will be assessed on the level of economic, social and cultural benefits generated through the event.
From music festivals, sporting events and art shows, through to food, fashion and performance, council is committed to supporting great local events, especially after the challenges of 2020, MidCoast Council economic development co-ordinator, Robyn Brennan said.
"Events were one of the first things to be cancelled when coronavirus hit and all parts of the industry have suffered, so we are really looking forward to being able to support great local events again in 2021-22," Ms Brennan said.

Depending on the scale of the event, four categories of funding are offered in the sponsorship program:
- Community event: Up to $2000;
- Medium event: $2000-$5000;
- Large event: $5000-$10,000, and
- Iconic event: $10,000+
Applications must be submitted online using the event sponsorship application form, while organisers of Iconic Events should contact council's events team prior to submitting their application.
Applications will be accepted until February 28.
All applicants are required to submit an event budget using MidCoast Council's event budget template, available on the website.
