The project, which kicked off earlier this month, involved widening and reconstructing a 3.2 kilometre stretch of Avalon Road between the Wallanbah Road intersection and Idalorn Close.
"This is a significant project that will not only improve safety outcomes on this important route, but is strategically planned to minimise on-going maintenance costs," MidCoast Council infrastructure and engineering services director, Rob Scott said.
The upgrade complements work previously undertaken on Avalon Road, from Germany Lane to Idalorn Close in 2019, and from Fire Station Road to Paterson Lane in 2020.
All three stages of the Avalon Road works have been funded by the NSW Government in association with council as part of the $100M road upgrade package.
Member for Myall Lakes, Stephen Bromhead said these projects were a huge win for the safety of the region's drivers.

"Providing safer driving conditions across our regional road network remains a priority," Mr Bromhead said.
"That's why the NSW Government continues to invest in important projects like this, which will deliver a smoother and safer drive for road users."
Works will be undertaken by contractors on behalf of council and are scheduled for completion at the end of June 2021, weather permitting.
Along with widening and reconstructing the existing road pavement, improvements will be made to roadside drainage, signage and guideposts.
Finishing with a two coat bitumen seal, the result will provide a wider, smoother and safer driving surface.
The work has been scheduled to take place Mondays to Fridays from 7am to 6pm, however reduced speed limits will apply at all times.
While the road will remain open to through traffic at all stages of construction, lane closures will be required at times, with one-way traffic managed under traffic control.
Motorists can expect minor delays and are asked to observe all signage and directions from crews, and to travel with caution in the vicinity of the works.
