Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead was on hand to present the club's committee members with a cheque for $6990 and said the funding would help the club in its bid to host more representative events.
"This is something they've been calling for because the old piece of equipment they have is long past its use by date and breaking down and having issues," he said.
"Anything we can do to help clubs to hold events and to bring other people here means jobs in our economy, in our local area."
Club secretary Cathy McPherson said she was over the moon with the news.
"This is a great opportunity for us to get some new equipment to enhance our pitch for the cricketing community," she said.
Ms McPherson said the club would look to purchase the new mower as soon as possible.
Cricket will return to Tuncurry Oval after the Christmas break this Saturday, January 16, when Great Lakes Green take on Taree West Strikers in the third grade division.
Great Lakes Gold will also take on Pacific Palms at Lake Street Oval, Forster.
