The Bureau of Meteorology is still verifying temperatures from the sweltering heatwave that hit NSW over the weekend, but indications suggest records are set to tumble across the State, with several places on the Mid North Coast recording their highest ever November temperatures.

Taree Airport reached 42 on Sunday according to the BOM's data, exceeding the previous November record of 40, which was recorded on November 20, 2015.
However, Taree resident Max Bennett reported a recording of 49.7 on the thermometer in his yard, and said the temperature reached 50 at the same spot in December of last year.
Kempsey also registered a record November high on Sunday, replacing the 2006 record of 39.8 with 40.2.
At Forster-Tuncurry, the BOM no longer records the temperature, but Dave Gibson from Forster Tuncurry Marine Rescue said their own readings showed it reached 40 at 1pm.
Going off the BOM's previous November record of 36 back in 2006, this indicates a new high of some four degrees.
However, Mr Gibson pointed out this reading was taken right next to the water, and he believed the temperature would've only been hotter at places not directly on the coast.

Away from the coast, a host of townships look set to smash their previous November records, although most of these places suffered through the worst of the heat on Saturday.
Smithsville, situated near the NSW/SA border, recorded 46.9 on Saturday, while Wilcannia recorded 46.4.
A spokesperson from the BOM indicated that December records were likely to fall in some parts of the State tomorrow, with temperatures predicted to again exceed 40 in the west.
