Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead is encouraging businesses in the electorate to apply for funding of between $100,000 and $10 million to help expand their production lines and incentivise interstate and overseas operations to relocate to regional NSW.

"This fund is part of the NSW Nationals' commitment to supporting local business and boosting jobs in towns across Myall Lakes which have been hit hard by drought, bushfires and COVID-19," Mr Bromhead said.

"Things have been tough for local families and businesses in Myall Lakes and the support of this new fund will be great news for our region.

"Eligible businesses are able to apply for grants to support the purchase of new equipment, expand facilities, create new tourist experiences and visitor attractions or relocate businesses from out of state to regional NSW.

"Applications are now open and I encourage local businesses to visit the Invest Regional NSW webpage and lodge an application."

Deputy premier and minister for regional NSW John Barilaro said the $100 million fund aimed to create at least 5,000 new direct jobs across regional NSW in the next three years.

"Regional NSW is the backbone of our State and the Regional Job Creation Fund will help give life to our country towns, creating new jobs and delivering immediate economic stimulus as businesses leverage new opportunities," he said.

"The resulting infrastructure will also provide work for tradies and suppliers meaning good news all round.

"This fund will mean more jobs for Myall Lakes by helping businesses fast-track their growth plans, giving them the money they need to purchase equipment or extend their premises today, instead of in the future.

"Supporting local businesses means they can attract new customers, which means more people in work, earning a wage that they will spend in local shops, which in turn supports local retail workers as well as their suppliers."

Applications are open now and will close on Friday, May 14 2021 or when the funding has been fully allocated.
