A tough 2019 battling drought and bushfires has blossomed into a successful 2020 for Milligans Shower Screens and Wardrobes principals, Deborah and Ian Atkins and their dedicated, hard working team.
The Forster and Taree-based business is one of 30 from throughout Australian selected in the Business Australia (previously NSW Business Chamber) Member Recognition program, People's Choice stage (award) celebrating entrepreneurship, determination and resilience.
We are unable to put into words what this means to us; the excitement here is incredibly uplifting, an understandably chuffed Deborah said.
Deborah said she had been blown away by the acknowledgement.
"It is so exciting to get recognition for a small business with so many going to the wall.
"The Mid North Coast suffered a lot last year."
"It's time to shout loud and proud about Milligans Shower Screens and Wardrobes' achievements."

Deb said it had been a tough time for many small business operators which had only just started recovering from the drought and bushfires when COVID-19 hit.
However, Milligans is one of the many small business success stories, efficiently maneuvering its way through COVID and the lockdown
Initially under the impression the award was a State-wide initiative, Deborah said 'it blew my mind' when she learned it was Australia-wide.
Deborah described writing the application as a therapeutic and rewarding process, and on reflection was surprised what Milligans and other small business operators had endured during the past 12 months.
She has urged everyone to get behind all small business operators and shop locally.
Deborah, Ian and the Milligans' team are no strangers to awards success.
Renowned for its friendly, efficient customers service, the company was recognised for its unique qualities back in 2017 taking out the business of the year, excellence in customer service and excellence in trade in the Mid Coast Business Awards, after taking a regional award in the NSW Business Chamber the previous year.
