The club held its October contest on Sunday at Black Head back beach in small but contestable surf.
Club president, Hugh Smyth rose to the occasion to take the win from fellow finalists Lachie Turville, Scott Ingram and Mick Moylan.
Mr Smyth believed he would be in the running for the club champion trophy but said he was anything but a shoo-in given he'd missed a number of earlier events.
"I'd say it'd be close," he said.
The club will hold its final club round on the third Sunday of November, with the division winners to be calculated at the conclusion of the contest.
However, the winners won't be announced until the first Saturday in December, when the club will hold a social team event.
We've got healthy numbers at the moment.
- Hugh Smyth
The club's annual general meeting will also be held on that day.
Mr Smyth said he would stand for president again after taking over the role from Mark Klaus midway through the year.
He said the club was in good shape despite the disruption of COVID-19, which saw four contests cancelled throughout the year.
"Despite everything that's happened, it's still been a good year for us," Mr Smyth said.
"We've got healthy numbers at the moment."
