Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead presented a cheque for $282,750 to club president Jerrad Allen on Wednesday, September 9, saying the grant would allow the club to replace its back deck.
"The timber deck is in urgent need of work, now close to 30 years old and suffering from rotting timbers, it's on its way to posing a major safety risk." Mr Bromhead said.
"These funds will allow the club to replace the deck with concrete and steel avoiding future issues of wood rot."

Mr Allen said the funding came at a crucial time given COVID-19 had impacted the club's ability to raise revenue.
"We've faced a major downturn in income as COVID-19 saw functions hiring the clubhouse and sporting events canned," he said.
"This grant has lifted some weight from our shoulders by ensuring we can replace the deck before it threatens both members and patrons safety."
Construction of the new deck is expected to start in early 2021, following the completion of the summer surf club season.
