There are eight confirmed cases of COVID-19 in HNEH - six in Port Stephens and two in Lake Macquarie local government areas (LGA).
There are no known cases of the infection in the Mid Coast LGA.
HNEH has identified three Newcastle venues, Wallsend Diggers, Hotel Jesmond and Lambton Park Hotel, as possible sources of infection.
Hunter New England Health public health controller, David Durrheim said since the update on Sunday night, August 2, there was further information about the venues attended by a confirmed case, a visitor in his 20s from Sydney.
Anyone who attended these venues may be at risk of infection and must strictly isolate at home for 14 days from those dates and be tested for COVID-19.
- Hotel Jesmond on July 29 from 7-9pm
- Wallsend Diggers on July 29 and 30 between 9 and 11pm
- He also attended Lambton Park Hotel on July 30 from 8 until 9pm.
Dr Durrheim advised people who attended these venues after these times were at lower risk and did not need to isolate.
"However, please look out for symptoms and get tested immediately if you develop any, even if mild," he said.
These venues have now been thoroughly cleaned and so there is no ongoing risk.
On Sunday NSW Health announced the second Sydney visitor who attended Toronto Court House on July 27, between 7am and 2pm had tested positive to the virus.
"The gentleman stayed at a private residence and all of his close contacts have been identified and are in isolation, so there is no ongoing risk to the community," Dr Durrheim said.
As a precaution, anyone who attended the Toronto Court House at those times should be alert for any symptoms and should even the mildest symptoms develop, they must self-isolate and seek urgent testing for COVID-19.
