In a nice bit of local history, a hymn board that is thought to previously have been in the long closed Burrell Creek Methodist Church has been presented to the Martin family.
The board has a plaque mounted on it stating it was erected in loving memory of John Wesley Martin.
He was a former member, steward and elder of the church.
Johnny Martin, as he was better known, is the region's only test cricketer.
In a first class career spanning from 1956 to 1968, Johnny played eight test matches for Australia and took 17 test wickets at 48.94. He featured in 135 first class games and played Sheffield Shield for NSW and South Australia.

Johnny was one of the well-known Martin family of Burrell Creek.
The board was passed to the Manning Uniting Church from the family of the late Rev Bruce Spence.
The Manning Uniting Church presented the board to Vince Martin of Old Bar on behalf of the Martin family.
Vince is Johnny's brother.
