Large sections of the sand transfer system, which runs parallel to the Boulevard was exposed on Thursday afternoon.
"It's the worst I've seen it for a while; it's pretty bad," Myall River Action Group spokesman Gordon Grainger said.
"I'd say we will certainly lose some trees and probably part of the road overnight."
The Newcastle Herald reported on Thursday that an operator for the $4.1 million Jimmys Beach sand transfer system had not been found.
In the short-term spoil from the Myall River dredging program will be pumped to the beach via an alternative pipeline.
Emergency sandbagging along exposed sections of Stockton beach held up well to the heavy seas in recent days, although some additional sand loss did occur.
