A requirement for all councils in NSW, the statement is on exhibition until Monday, August 17.
"The planning statement provides a 20 year land-use vision for the Mid Coast, outlining how growth and change will be managed to enhance the high levels of liveability, environmental amenity and rural character that characterises our region," mayor, David West said.
It provides a link between priorities identified at a regional level in the Hunter Regional Plan 2036, and our local planning controls, Dr West said.
More importantly, the statement reflects the community's identified values in the Mid Coast community strategic plan and recent consultations, he said.
There are over 40 actions in the statement covering the whole spectrum of council works, that will contribute to how we live, work and play.

The 10 planning priorities identified in the statement reflect what was important to the community, such as place-making in towns and villages, delivering diverse housing and connecting people and places.
Specific actions which deliver each priority were included.
"There are over 40 actions in the statement covering the whole spectrum of council works, that will contribute to how we live, work and play," Cr West said.
We are currently undertaking a large body of strategic planning work, which will more clearly define the Mid Coast's planning vision, he said.
