After battling a stiff breeze early on, competitors in Club Forster Bluewater Fishing Club's June competition enjoyed a good run of fishing once the wind eased.

Held in the waters off Forster on June 20 and 21, the monthly competition saw perennial performer Martyn Barry once again claim the top honours after bagging a four kilogram snapper and finishing with a total of 419.2 points.
Others to enjoy some luck with the line included Franklin Harshman, who hooked a 1.3kg flathead; Paul Nicholas, who pulled in a 1.49kg teraglin; and Goran Kockar, who caught a 2.66kg leather jacket.
Six boats fished over the weekend, with 12 members and one non-member taking part.
Club Forster Bluewater Fishing Club conducts fishing competitions on the weekend of the third Sunday of each month offshore of Forster from midnight Friday to midday Sunday.
Weigh-in is adjacent to the Forster Harbour boat ramp from 11.15am to midday Sunday.
A luncheon and monthly prize presentation is held afterwards at Club Forster at 2.30pm.

Cost of joining the club is only $10 with a $5 yearly renewal fee and a monthly fishing cost of $5 when you fish.
