Great Lakes Manning Homelessness Support Service, Community Partnership Against Domestic and Family Violence and Catholic Care Integrated Domestic and Family Violence Service (Hunter-Manning) will share about $205,500 to ensure the continued provision of vital help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Member for Myall Lakes, Stephen Bromhead said the pandemic had increased the potential for domestic abuse in homes across the community so the funding would ensure help is available and accessible.
"Our dedicated frontline services as well as police and local court staff do an incredible job each day responding to the terrible scourge of domestic and family violence," Mr Bromhead said.
"This funding boost by the NSW and Commonwealth governments will ensure local support services in the Manning-Great Lakes area have the resources they need to respond to any increase in service demand."
Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence ,Mark Speakman said more victims and survivors have sought assistance during the pandemic and are presenting to services with more complex needs.
