And, while many of us continue to work from home, that doesn't stop us from letting our favourite pooch into the office.
Dogs have been our 'best friends' since they became domesticated back in the dim dark ages, working alongside us, hunting, tracking and keeping us safe.
However, much of the relationship has been forgotten with our four legged friends left to sit at home for much of the day as we go about our daily business.
The first Take Your Dog to Work Day, began back in 1996 to celebrate and acknowledge the companionship our dogs provide and also to encourage adoptions from local shelters and rescue groups.
But, our furry friends aren't the only ones who can benefit from the one-day event.
Studies have show that pets in the workplace reduce stress and anxiety and this in turn has an effect on productivity.
In short, a dog keeps our workplace calm and focused on the job at hand.
If you are taking your fur baby to work tomorrow and allowing him into the office take a snap and share.
