Wrong.
A legendary Australian name still builds cars here in small numbers.
From Wikipedia: "Brabham Automotive Ltd, trading under the name Brabham Automotive, is an Anglo-Australian automaker launched by David Brabham and Australian investor group, Fusion Capital, in May 2018. Brabham Automotive is based in Adelaide, South Australia, with representation also in the United Kingdom.
"Its first product is the Brabham BT62, which was initially launched as a track-only vehicle. In November 2019, the company announced a competition version of the BT62 to coincide with its racing debut in the Britcar season finale at Brands Hatch."

Let's look at the BT62: The BT62 is powered by a mid-mounted 5.4L naturally-aspirated V8 engine that is based on an engine from a mainstream automaker, the identity of which the company has not revealed.
The engine has been extensively modified and has a power output of 515 kW (691bhp) with 667 Nm of torque.
Although the BT62 in its standard form is not road-legal, Brabham offers a road legal conversion to its customers with the conversion and registration process being carried out in the U.K.
You'll need deep pockets to buy a Brabham BT62, almost $2 million.
Bit more than a Commodore.
So I don't suppose we'll see many around.
