The NSW Police Force Traffic and Highway Patrol Command has shared a video on its Facebook page of a car burning on the side of the Pacific Highway near Nabiac.
The video was uploaded at 6:40pm on Saturday, May 16 along with the status update "Pacific Highway, Nabiac - all occupants safe and well."
Traffic and Highway Patrol Command then provided further information in the comments, including that the car was a Suzuki Swift, the incident took place around three kilometres south of Nabiac, and the vehicle appeared to have caught alight due to a mechanical issue.
The incident came amid a horror weekend on NSW roads, with three people dying and three more left critical after four separate accidents across the State.
Among those who died was a 45-year-old man at Port Macquarie.
It is believed his Mitsubishi utility left the road and crashed into a tree on Riverside Drive at around 5:30pm on Saturday, May 16.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
The deaths took the State's road toll to 121 for the year.
