While still in its early stages, council is seeking community feedback to help form a better understanding of the way services are provided across the region and to better identify the needs of the local Aboriginal community through an on-line survey.
From language and resources to employment opportunities and education, the survey will provide a snapshot of the areas that need improvement locally.
Once the survey results are collated, the team will then be conducting focus groups in April-May to further discuss the feedback provided via the survey.
"We're committed to building positive relationships and respect between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people across the Mid Coast," MidCoast Council liveable communities director, Paul De Szell said.
We want to break down barriers and see all people in our region thrive and to do this we need to identify and understand gaps and needs in order to better support services already in place.

"We want to break down barriers and see all people in our region thrive and to do this we need to identify and understand gaps and needs in order to better support services already in place."
The Aboriginal Action Plan will focus on council goals and projects/initiatives for recognising and respecting Aboriginal culture and history and reducing disadvantage experienced by the Mid Coast Aboriginal community.
"To ensure we're getting this right, we really need the input from the community so I'd urge everyone to head online and take the short survey."
Survey submissions will close at 4.30pm on Tuesday, March 31.
