Hosted by community housing provider, Compass Housing, 36 agents and managers from Forster-Tuncurry, Tea Gardens and Taree attended the event at Club Taree.
Samaritans, Great Lakes and Manning Youth Homelessness Service, Mid North Coast Tenants Advice Service, Forster Neighbourhood Centre, Manning Mental Health, NSW Police and Hunter Primary Care, also attended the day-long program.
With a better understanding of some issues tenants face, agents can work with community organisations to put in place early intervention strategies to keep people in their homes.

This is according to Compass Housing housing access executive manager, Lucy Andrews.
"Evicting tenants through the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal is an expensive and time consuming process and stressful for tenants and landlords," Ms Andrews said.

"This is another way we're helping stop people from slipping out of private rentals into the overcrowded social housing sector, which also benefits governments and community."
