The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Yacaaba Head at Hawks Nest following reports the woman had fallen on rocks and injured her ankle.
Due to the inaccessible nature of the woman's location the critical care paramedic had to be winched in, where a Ambulance Service NSW paramedic was providing initial treatment after making their way across the rocks by foot.
After the woman was stabilised, she was placed in a special air rescue vest before being winched on board the helicopter and airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
