A man will face Forster Local Court today, Thursday, November 21 after allegedly assaulting two police officers at a home in Taree.

About 10.30am on Wednesday, November 20, Manning Great Lakes Police District officers attended a house on Valerie Street to assist a man suffering a medical emergency.
On arrival, the two officers assisted paramedics to walk the man to a waiting ambulance.
The 22-year-old man then allegedly turned and rushed at a senior constable and punched him in the face.
A leading senior constable tried to restrain the man, who continued to throw several punches at both officers.
The man was eventually restrained and arrested.
He was taken to Manning Hospital under guard for treatment.
The man was later released from hospital and transported to Forster Police Station.
He was refused bail after being charged with assaulting police occasioning actual bodily harm, assault police and resist arrest.
