Talking to the Great Lakes Advocate just after 4pm, Black Head resident, Deb Schmitzer said it was hard to tell how much ground had been burnt in the latest bushfire.
"It has burned so much right to the beach; it's hard to tell exactly how much," she said.
The air quality is poor; there was so much smoke this morning, she said.
According to the latest update from the Fires Near Me app, the Hillville fire has made its way all the way to Diamond Beach.
Burning in a north and easterly direction it has - for the time being - skirted past Possum Brush, Failford, Tallwoods, Red Head and Hallidays Point.
However, residents in the Old Bar, Wallabi Point, South Taree, Tallwoods Village, Tinonee, Purfleet, Diamond Beach and Hillville, Possum Brush are advised to put their bush fire survival plan into action.
If you are in the area of Rainbow Flat and Hallidays Point, continue to monitor conditions.
If you do not have a bush fire survival plan, know what you will do if the fire threatens, the RFS advises.
