Competing at the NSW Junior State Titles in Coffs Harbour in July, Oscar fell just short of making the finals in the U16 boys', but still qualified for the NSW team with a semi-final finish.
He then joined with fellow Great Lakes' surfer Jay Pink to compete in the NSW High School Titles that ran in conjunction with the event.
Representing Great Lakes College, Oscar and Jay surfed their way to the final to finish third overall in the MR Shield team event.
Oscar also enjoyed a good run through the individual All Stars event, but was once again eliminated in the semi finals.
Fellow Great Lakes' surfers Charlize Everitt and Ross Cadden also competed at the State titles in Coffs Harbour, but were unsuccessful in qualifying for the NSW team.
Competing at the NSW Grommet State Titles in Maroubra in late July, Leila posted a similar result to her brother, bowing out one heat short of the U14 girls' final but nonetheless qualifying for the NSW team.
Both surfers will now focus their sights on the Australian championships, with the aspiration of hopefully bringing an Australian Junior Surfing Title (or two) back to Boomerang Beach.
