With applications closing on Monday, August 5, there are just days left to put your hand up to become a voice for young people in regional areas.
Two individuals aged between 12 and 24 will be selected from the Hunter region to join the 18-member taskforce that will advise minister for regional youth, Bronnie Taylor, on issues affecting young people in regional NSW.
The taskforce will meet with the minister four times per year and offer advice on the key issues affecting the youth in their region.
Member for the Myall Lakes, Stephen Bromhead, said there had already been a strong response from young people in the area but urged anyone who hadn't applied yet to do so.
"To the young people living in Myall Lakes, this is your opportunity to get your ideas across to decision-makers, air your opinions on local issues, represent your friends and peers, and to help shape decisions to drive change in your community," he said.
"Youth unemployment and mental health are examples of some of the challenges facing young people here and the taskforce will work to address these with the NSW Government."
