Leading business advisory, not-for-profit group, the Business Centre, will present a fully-subsidised workshop, business advice and masterclasses in Forster next week.
The lead provider for support for disability sector businesses in Northern NSW, The Business Centre will offer three distinct and invaluable opportunities for local business during the next two weeks.
The series of workshops, masterclasses and 1:1 business advisory sessions, will be presented by Mid North Coast Business Centre disability business adviser, Nat Ellis.
The first opportunity for local businesses will be the hugely popular NDIS Verification and Audit Ready Masterclass, which will be held in Forster next Monday, July 8.
"This masterclass is an intensive eight-hour session which will cover understanding the audit and registration process, and self-assessment, NDIS practice standards and quality indicators, management and policy procedure writing and much more," Ms Ellis said.
"Participants will also receive all the documents they need to manage their NDIS Audit without extensive costs to their business.
"We are conducting these masterclasses all across the State and they are often booking out in a couple of days as the need is so great."
This session will be followed up with the six-hour workshop Growing Your Business in the Disability Sector, on July 15, covering the two leading pain points for businesses - marketing and finances.
"This workshop is for small business owners who are looking to understand their new customer markets, how to reach them and how to stand out from the crowd.
"The basics of marketing are covered and the attendees will be researching and reviewing their product and services during the workshop.
"We will also help business owners to understand what it costs to deliver products and services to the NDIS market and how to diversify revenue streams to create a sustainable business."
Finally, Ms Ellis will spend several days in Forster meeting with local businesses in the disability support sector on a 1:1 basis so they can talk through their business issues and take advantage of her extensive experience in the area.
We will also help business owners to understand what it costs to deliver products and services to the NDIS market and how to diversify revenue streams to create a sustainable business.
- Nat Ellis
"I will be meeting with local business to address any issues they have in running their businesses, any questions they have about the NDIS and just offering support in any way I can to these vital businesses."
Under the State government's Business Connect program the Growing Your Business workshop and business advisory sessions will be fully-subsidised and therefore free to attendees whose businesses are registered in NSW.
Ms Ellis is passionate about the current opportunities for new and innovative NDIS services that support people with a disability to enhance their lives in the ways they choose.
Whether you run an existing business or are considering self-employment in this changing service environment, she is eager to assist to explore the possibilities.
In supporting start-ups, she draws on personal experience of the challenges of starting four small business ventures which have increased her capabilities in business planning, financial modelling and continuous business monitoring.
Ms Ellis has been actively assisting new and existing small business owners to explore their opportunities as NDIS service providers since 2016 and is committed to helping businesses access the information they need to get started and to succeed in this new service environment.
