Pacific Palms Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) member, Jerrad Allen was named this year's Lifesaver of the Year at Newcastle Permanent Surf Life Saving Lower North Coast Branch Awards of Excellence.

Mr Allen was one of many volunteers acknowledge for their contribution and dedication to keeping local beaches safe.
More than 120 members and guests attended the awards, held on Saturday, June 22 at Tuncurry Sporties Club, with Andrew Jones master of ceremonies.
Junior lifesavers for 2019 were Forster branch member, Olivia Williams and Black Head member, Brady Cross from Black Head who both spoke on their experiences attending the Surf Lifesaving New South Wales State Camp and meeting other impressive junior lifesavers from across the State.
Joining the junior lifesavers were fellow volunteers, who received awards:

- Open Athlete of the Year: Claire Van Kampen, Cape Hawke;
- Masters Athlete of the Year: Adam Mulligan, Cape Hawke;
- Team of the Year: Forster SLSC IRB team;
- Junior Branch Handicap Point Score: Black Head SLSC;
- Junior Branch Champions: Forster SLSC;
- Senior Branch Handicap Point Score: Black Head SLSC;
- Senior Branch Champions: Cape Hawke SLSC;
- Official of the Year: Lorraine Morgan, Forster;
- Coach of the Year: Martin Cowper, Black Head;
- Age Manager of the Year: Selina Brookes, Pacific Palms;
- Trainer of the Year: Gary Curtis, Cape Hawke;
- Assessor of the Year: Corrine Stevenson, Taree Old Bar;
- Facilitator of the Year: Jim Wills, Forster.
- Administrator of the Year: Michael Cameron, Taree Old Bar;
- The Sandra Wilson Volunteer of the Year: Beth Lee, Forster;
- Youth Volunteer of the Year: Jock Sweeney, Cape Hawke;
- Support Operations Member of the Year: Robert Chappell, Forster;
- Services Team of the Year: LNC branch duty officers;
- Patrol Captain of the Year: Brendan Guiney; Cape Hawke;
- Patrol Team of the Year: Team 2 Pacific Palms SLSC;
- Patrol Competition Club of the Year: Black Head;
- Patrol Ap Competition Club of the Year : Pacific Palms

- Lifesaver of the Year: Jerrad Allen, Pacific Palms;

- Newcastle Permanent Patrol Members Recognition Awards: Brent Donaldson, Crowdy Head, Joe Dunn (TOB), Jayme Wisemantle, Black Head, Hany Ibrahim, Forster, Janet Robinson, Cape Hawke and Jerry Edwards, Pacific Palms, and
- President's Award, Robert Chappell. Forster SLSC.
The highlight of the night was the season in review video presentation produced by Julie Wilcox showing the many different facets of the organisation, while guests were welcomed by SLSLNC branch president, Brian Wilcox.
Local member, Stephen Bromhead presented each club with an oxygen resuscitation kit provided by the NSW Department of Health.
