The 2019 Carve NSW Surfmasters Titles presented by Moby's Beachside Retreat wrapped up yesterday, Sunday, June 16, with four new State champions being crowned after a series of exciting finals in the small, glassy conditions.

After years of numerous finals' appearances and impressive performances, Newcastle's Paul Snow was able to claim a NSW title, taking out the Over-35 Men's division.
Snow played a patient game in the final, catching only two waves but posting an excellent 8.33 wave score as well as a 5.5 to give him the win ahead of runner-up Mick O'Rafferty by 0.66.
2018 Australian Champion Jay Phillips returned to Boomerang Beach with the goal of adding a NSW title to his already stellar list of accomplishments.
The Fingal surfer put on an electric performance in the Over-40 Men's final, posting two excellent scores - 8.4 and an 8.07 - to amass a solid 16.47 two-wave total for the win.
He will now get the chance to defend his 2018 title when the 2019 SAE Group Australian Surf Championships returns to the Tweed region in August.
After a near ten-year hiatus from the NSW State titles, Woonoona's Dan Dignam returned to the competition and proceeded to light up the majority of the heats he surfed.
The powerful natural-footer shone in the 20-minute final as he nailed a barrage of massive backside snaps and carves to finish the final with a two-wave heat total of 13.76 and take the top spot on the dais.
1988 Pipeline Masters Champion and perennial standout in Australian Indigenous Titles, Robbie Page, hit the Over-50 Men's division with his trademark flair and flow.
The widely respected goofy-footer from Kempsey found a handful of playful lefts in the wave-starved final to post an impressive 14.53 two-wave total and take the win.
He dedicated his victory to 2000 World Champion Sunny Garcia who was recently hospitalised in Portland, Oregon.
The prominent four-day event saw over 150 competitors - aged 35 and above - battle it out in an attempt to secure a NSW shortboard title and a spot in the national titles at the 2019 SAE Group Australian Surf Championships in Tweed Heads.
2019 was the eighth consecutive year the Carve NSW Surfmasters Titles presented by Moby's Beachside Retreat has been held in the Great Lakes region.
Divisions for the event included: Over 35 Men, Over 35 Women, Over 40 Men, Over 45 Men, Over 50 Men, Over 55 Men, Over 60 Men and Open Single Fin.
All finalists received a range of prizes courtesy of Carve, thanks to Carve and Surfing NSW sharing a common goal to give back to grassroots competition.
