Coach Phil Adamson said the video session rammed home a few truths. The Hawks trotted off at the halftime break against the Bulls leading 10-8 after dominating field position for the opening 40 minutes. Come fulltime they were down 32-16 - with their final try coming just before the final siren.
There were some excruciating moments for the players as they saw the litany of mistakes they produced in the second half.
Adamson said the players were able to have a say about what went wrong.
"It was a real bitch session,'' he said.
However, he is confident the move will have the desired effect.
"At the end we were all smiles and everyone was shaking hands,'' he said.
The Hawks meet Old Bar on Sunday at the Jack Neal Oval. Forster hasn't won a game since the opening week of the competition. Old Bar hasn't won a game, so it's a battle of two desperate sides.
Adamson stressed it isn't time to hit the panic button yet.

"We said at the start of the year if we won all our games at home and one or two away we'd make the semis,'' he said.
"We've still only lost the one at home - so we have to pick up another away win and then we're still on track.''
Keda Moylan will returns from a shoulder injury but will move from five-eighth to his more accustomed role of fullback. Adamson said he wants Moylan to get a bit more space in attack.
"It was always an experiment with Keda at five-eighth. Now it's time to end that experiment,'' Adamson said.
Matt Wakefield, who has been playing lock, is the new five-eighth.
Adamson said Wakefield will certainly tighten up the defence and said he will also be able to steer the side around the field.

"He assures me he's played a fair bit of five-eighth, so I'll need to find a another running forward to go into the pack,'' Adamson said.
Ben Murray moves from fullback to centre.
However, front rower Matt Kirkland faces another week on the sideline after aggravating a quad injury at training.
"We thought he would be right for last week but he went one set too many at training and he's done it again,'' Adamson said.
"It looks as though he'll be another two or three weeks.''
This will also be the club's Women in League round, with stalwart Lyn Eason set to play her 100th league tag game for the Hawks.
