The event will be held at the Forster course at 8.30am for a shotgun start at 9am.
Now in its 17th year, all golfers - no matter what standard - are invited to participate in this memorial event.
A highlight will be the $10,000 Rowdy Championship sponsored hole-in-one.
Proceeds from the day will remain within the community for distribution between Great Lakes Palliative Care and the Cape Hawke Surf CIub.
The working committee has raised more than $200,000 since the event's inception with more than $180,000 of that money donated to palliative care which relies on donations.
The Great Lakes has the highest rate of people in NSW (40 per cent) who chose to die at home.
Through the Matt Nixon golf day equipment, medication and palliative care nurses, along with the development of oncology at Forster Private Hospital have been made possible
The goIf day is held in memory of former police officer, Matt Nixon who was diagnosed with cancer in 1999.
He was an avid sportsman, an A-grade golfer, a member of the Cape Hawke Surf Club and played first grade rugby league.
Matt's courage while battling his illness was both astounding and inspiring with his determination to continue with his poIice and volunteer work
