According to MidCoast Council community spaces and services director, Paul De Szell, most feedback on the draft design concept was positive.
"People attending the pop up said they were looking forward to the upgrade of facilities and we received some suggestions on possible 'tweaks' to the designs," Mr De Szell said.
"All suggestions are welcome and will be considered as a whole by council before the plans are finalised."
The renovation project will kick off the first stage of the Forster Main Beach masterplan.
Mr De szell said design concepts have been developed in keeping with community feedback during the masterplan development in 2017-2018.
Upgrades to the large shaded barbecue area, public amenities/change rooms and outdoor shower area will be delivered through a $200,000 funding allocation from the NSW Government Stronger Country Communities Fund and an additional $250,000 from council Forster/Tuncurry Open Space fund.
An important part of the improvements is installation of accessible barbecues, furniture and toilets for people living with disability.
As a result of public consultation on the masterplan, it's been decided to relocate the proposed toilet block closer to the road and Second Head.
Change rooms will be provided within the new toilet block, rather than in a separate structure, and the existing change rooms will be removed.

The footprint of the existing change rooms will become the new barbecue and picnic area, and the existing barbecue area will be removed, which will be converted to a large grass area for people to enjoy.
The new barbecue area will provide a contemporary space with cooking facilities, picnic tables and an alfresco seating area.
The new facility connects the open space to the natural surrounds, featuring mixed seating for different uses, modern furniture, and art screens using local Aboriginal designs.
Design concepts can be viewed either online or at Forster council chambers office and complete the online survey to have your say, before the consultation ends on Sunday, April 28.
