The former Australian and world champion finished more than half a kilo ahead of his nearest rival in the three-day cumulative weight competition.
The event format saw each angler turn in three bream per day, with the total combined weight of the nine fish they caught deciding the eventual winner.
Jack Gammie of Berowra Heights finished second and Alex Greisdorf of Western Australia third.
Hobie spokesperson, Jim Barrie said the event went off without a hitch and that Forster proved an ideal venue for the competition.
“We can often have random weather, especially in February, but the weather was good, the tides were kind, the locals were welcoming and the fishing was great,” Mr Barrie said.
“We were very fortunate.”
Mr Barrie also said Wallis Lake lived up to its reputation for breeding hard-hitting bream, with the biggest fish topping the scales at 1.4 kilograms and a lot of anglers pulling in fish well over the kilo mark.
“The fish played the game,” he said.
“They definitely won a lot of the battles.”
Mr Barrie was also pleased with the number of people who attended the event, saying the venue was often filled with spectators keen to check out some of Australia’s best anglers.
“It was a really good wind-up to our season 10th anniversary,” he said.
